Opt-Out/ Waiver

If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

Fall - 06/29/2024 - 10/31/2024

Spring/Summer - 01/03/2025 - 04/03/2025

All full-time students at FTTA are required to maintain health insurance coverage while enrolled at FTTA. Students are required to enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) or provide proof of adequate health insurance coverage.

Students enrolled at FTTA that wish to opt-out of the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) must submit alternate coverage information through the Academic HealthPlans Waiver System. In order to be approved for a waiver, your alternate health coverage must meet the requirements listed below and be submitted with proof documentation prior to the April 3, 2025 deadline.

Alternative Health Insurance Plans must meet the following requirements:

  1. Policy must have active coverage.
  2. Policy must provide coverage for office visits, hospitalizations, and prescription medications while you are in the Anaheim area.
